Burning Banana Stylocoeniella

Stylocoeniella is a hardy and colorful small polyp stony (SPS) coral prized for its bright coloration, fine texture, and attractive encrusting growth pattern. Often displaying vibrant shades of yellow, green, orange, or gold, Stylocoeniella forms dense colonies covered with tiny polyps that create a fuzzy appearance when fully extended. Its unique growth form makes it an excellent choice for filling open rockwork, adding color contrast, and creating visual interest in reef aquariums. Under stable conditions, Stylocoeniella can exhibit excellent growth and vibrant coloration, making it a rewarding addition to SPS-dominated and mixed reef aquariums.

Care Guide
Stylocoeniella thrives under moderate to high lighting and moderate to strong turbulent water flow. Best placed in the middle to upper regions of the aquarium, this SPS coral benefits from stable water chemistry and good circulation to support healthy growth and coloration. Primarily photosynthetic, Stylocoeniella receives most of its nutrition from symbiotic zooxanthellae but may also benefit from dissolved nutrients and occasional planktonic foods. Maintain stable reef parameters with a temperature of 76–80°F, salinity of 1.025, alkalinity of 8–11 dKH, calcium of 400–450 ppm, magnesium of 1250–1400 ppm, and low nitrate and phosphate levels for optimal health, coloration, and long-term success.
